‘Black Adam’s Quintessa Swindell Anchors Lead In Spyglass’ Climbing Thriller ‘Deadpoint’

EXCLUSIVE: After a turn on HBO Processing, and with Dwayne Johnson in Warner Bros/DC’s black adam, Quintessa Swindell takes on the leading role in Spyglass Media Groupclimbing thriller Neutral, Deadline can tell you first.

The story follows a young woman who sets out to complete the treacherous ascent of a mountain that claimed her father’s life. Halfway through, she stumbles upon a murder and becomes the target of a band of ruthless criminals who want to eliminate the only witness to their crime. Alone in the unforgiving nature and clinging to a steep rock face, her only escape is in place.

No More Deadline

Monsters the directing team Adam Stein & Zach Lipovsky will helm a screenplay by Paul Haapaniemi (Jane by design) with Chris Bender and Jake Weiner of Good Fear Content (Mulan, my spy) produce.

Peter Oiltaguerre, President of Production and Chris Stone, Vice President of Production, will oversee the project on behalf of Spyglass.

Virginia native Swindell’s credits include feature film Travelers, Paul Schrader’s Next master gardener, the Netflix series trinkets, and a turn on HBO’s Emmy-winning series Euphoria. In black adam, Swindell stars as Cyclone.

Swindell is represented by The Gersh Agency and Derek Kroeger of law firm Myman Greenspan.

The Spyglass Media Group, led by Gary Barber, develops, finances, produces feature films and television programs across all platforms for global audiences. Recently they relaunched Dimension’s Yell highly successful franchise with Yell which opened to $30 million and grossed $81.6 million domestically, $140 million WW on a thrifty production cost of $24 million.
