Brittany Ashworth stars in rock climbing thriller

We first heard about director Howard J. Ford’s rock climbing thriller The flange fourteen months ago, when the film had just entered post-production. Now it’s finally been revealed when we’ll get the chance to watch The flange: Saban Films and Paramount are teaming up to bring the film to theatrical and VOD release on February 18e. With a month to go before that date, a trailer has been released online and can be seen in the embed above.

The flange was described as a “female-centric take” from the 1993 Sylvester Stallone film thrillerwhich is interesting because director Ana Lily Amirpour has developed a female-led reboot of thriller since mid-2019. This reboot is taking so long to go into production, The flange ahead… but if Amirpour is thriller never done, i will watch it again.

Ford (The dead) directed The flange from a screenplay by Tom Boyle (Wild Nature: Volcano). The film has the following synopsis:

A climbing adventure between two friends turns into a terrifying nightmare. After Kelly (Ashworth) captures the murder of her best friend on camera, she becomes the target of a tight-knit group of friends who will stop at nothing to destroy evidence and anyone in their path. Desperate for her safety, she begins a perilous climb up a mountain cliff and her survival instincts are tested when she finds herself trapped with the killers just 20 feet away.

Brittany Ashworth (injured man), Ben Lamb (Divergent), Louis Boyer (off the wire), Nathan Welsh (Believe me), Anaïs Parello (The hauntings of lockdown) and David Wayman (benny loves you) Star.
