Work to begin removing a landslide from the Selway River Road is expected to begin today, said Kidder-Harris Road District Supervisor Dan Fitting.
“We got the go-ahead” from the US Forest Service, Fitting said. The agency first had to do an archaeological examination of the site as part of the process of clearing the road. It was concluded Wednesday morning, Fitting said, and his department was given the go-ahead to begin clearing the road.
The first task will likely be to open an emergency lane in the road to allow limited passage to traffic.
